Past event | Unlocking Opportunities in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone

SwissCham members had the opportunity to take part in an exclusive session dedicated to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), a landmark initiative with great potential for businesses seeking regional expansion, cross-border collaboration, and deeper integration across Southeast Asia.

Co-organised by SwissCham Singapore and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the session offered valuable insights into the JS-SEZ’s streamlined regulatory frameworks, enhanced infrastructure connectivity, and strong bilateral support from both Singapore and Malaysia.

The event began with Emelia Lee's introduction of EDB’s role in supporting Swiss companies expanding across Southeast Asia. Her presentation highlighted how EDB partners with businesses to facilitate growth in the region. This was followed by an in-depth overview from Casatrina Lee, who explored the strategic advantages and incentives of the JS-SEZ, supported by concrete case studies to bring the opportunity to life.

The session concluded with engaging Q&A and networking segments, giving members the chance to interact directly with our speakers—set against the stunning 360° views from EDB’s office overlooking the Singapore skyline.
